USER Menus are a valuable tool which can be used to enhance a simulation model in many ways.

The following are just a few examples:

  • Allows the customer to experiment with the model without any coding changes.
  • Allows the user to change virtually all aspects of the model including: Speeds, number of operators, method of running system, number of machines, order profiles, etc.
  • Allows the the user to save to define input data, save the data as a scenario, save the results of the run, and be able to recall the system configuration (scenario) and the results of the simulation so that comparison analysis can be performed.
How to add a User Menu:

The user menus are built in Visual Basic (VB). The simulation software ARENA© has the capability to add VB code to the simulation model. User menus can be added using the VB editor in ARENA or by using Forms in ACCESS. A simulation model can use either or both methods. Using ACCESS allows you to store and retrieve simulation input data and configurations and simulation results.
